Connecticut's clean slate act

The Connecticut Clean Slate Act, signed into law in 2021, mandates  the automatic erasure of certain criminal records after a period of  time, specifically after seven years for eligible misdemeanors and ten  years for eligible felonies. This law aims to remove barriers to employment, housing, and education for individuals with past convictions. While the law took effect in 2023, implementation has faced delays, and the automatic erasure process is still being rolled out.
